About the Gathering

The Zendo Project Fundraising Gathering is being held to create awareness around Psychedelic Peer Support and encourage the Northwest Harm Reduction Community to connect at a local event.  This is an opportunity to deepen with your community through music, dance, light snacks, and drink.

This is a potluck-style event, so please bring something to share!

We will have Zendo Project apparel for sale and staff and volunteers available to talk about our work. We will also have a Zendo Project safe space, with trained volunteers available for support during the event.

Above all, it is a time for play, connection, and the opportunity to come together in support of well, …support! We encourage those in the community who know about the Zendo Project and MAPS to bring your friends, as well as connecting new community or potential donors to our network and deepening in understanding of the services we provide.

Musicians, DJs, and Performers

Yaima

YAIMA is a Cascadian Elemental & Alchemical Electronic Music Duo based in Seattle, Washington. Creating a deeply captivating and finely tuned container for their audiences, YAIMA – Mas Higasa and Pepper Proud – allow the listener the opportunity to Journey through Sonic Soundscapes traversing sensually stimulating and heart centered compositions deeply inspiring each listener to return to their truth. Their music is reminiscent of well known music groups such as Purity Ring, Massive Attack, Bjork, Portishead, Wildlight, Emancipator and Lulacruza.

YAIMA’s music is interwoven with intention and acknowledgment for the elementals. As the earth transmutes through fire, the winds move the water, the water falls and replenishes the earth- the cycles of gratitude and reciprocity is what weaves these harmonies and deeply pulsing rhythms into a unique and balanced sensational journey.

La DulCe Vida

La Dulce Vida is a 4-piece band based out of Seattle. We play acoustic folk songs from South America and from our hearts. At times quiet and rousing, our music is inspired by and invokes the medicines of nature and the sacred elements. We celebrate love and gratitude for all the blessings, the joys and heartbreaks of this life we’ve been gifted. Hence our band name, which translates to “This Sweet Life” in Spanish. We are Hernan Savastano on guitar and vocals, Nicholas Coniaris on cello, David Watson on percussion, and Elyse Raupp-Gardner on vocals.

OmTARA

OmTara OmTara is a healing music project in the US Pacific NW.  We craft original healing songs in English together with Sanksrit, Buddhist, and Kundalini mantras that encourage listeners to join right in to utilize the ancient healing sound current of mantra.  The original lyrics of our songs come mainly through 40-day meditations with each mantra.  We arrive at new ways to receive & convey the teachings within mantras that feel genuinely co-created with Source.

Members of OmTara are Ashley Collins, Erik Blender, Jack Inglis with collaborating guest musicians. We’ve been playing festivals, concerts, kirtans, meditations & yoga classes for several years.  Our first studio album is coming in May 2018!  Hear some of our early recordings and OmTara Meditation Mixes on Soundcloud.

Sonic SHIVA

Sonic Shiva – with many arms playing many instruments, Sonic Shiva channels the music of the Cosmic Now — weaving a live, improvised journey that can range from lush, tantric ambient to full-on, psychedelic freakout, depending on the time, place, and energy of the audience and band. With combinations of traditional and electronic tech, voice and strings, drums and samples, Sonic Shiva presents a fusion of classic inspiration with modern sensibilities to play something entirely new and generated by and for the moment.
